Of course, we all have files in our systems that hide them password protection. Fortunately, in Windows 10, you can put these files and programs in a hidden folder and lock it. In fact, you can protect your files and folders without installing additional software. This tutorial will teach you how to lock these folders.

Here I am going to tell about 2 very easy methods of creating password and protect your files and folders with password protection. With these methods you can easily create password on your private files and folders to hide them.

So Let’s start with 1st method of password protection.

1st Method

Step 1: Right Click on the file or folder that you want to protect, choose the properties option from the appeared Menu

Step 2: Click on Advanced option

Step 3: “Tick” on Encrypt contents to secure data, then Click OK

Step 4: Click Apply

Step 5: choose the option weather you want to Apply that change to only that folder or you want to Apply that changes in subfolders as well, after choosing the option then Click OK

It’s Done! Now your folder or file has saved.

2nd Method

This method is very easy, with this method you can set password on folders or files within a minute.

Step 1: Choose your folder or file, Right Click then click Add to archive

Step 2: Click on Set password

Step 3: Type your password then Click OK

Step 4: Again Click OK on the previous appeared page

Delete the original file and keep the other one, click on the other one and punch your password. Once you done that you should have two folders, one which has your original file in and the other named… keep them both or it won’t work.
